The centrifugal chiller, which was independently researched and developed by the air conditioner giant in China, Gree Electric Appliances, is mainly to be used in central air conditioning systems with independent temperature and moisture controls. The project comes from the National Key Technology R&D Program in the 11th Five Year Plan of China, with the name ‘High Efficient Centrifugal Chiller with Leaving Water Temp of 16-18°C.
According to the company, the new product was introduced by Huang Hui, general engineer and vice president of Gree and also by the director of the National Research Center for Energy-saving and the Environment-friendly Refrigeration Equipment, mentioning that, as the largest central air-conditioner thus far, the new product collects the latest technology achievements developed by Gree with 100% independent intellectual property and the highest COP(Coefficient Of Performance) reaching 9.18, saving 30% energy compared with current centrifugal chillers under the same circumstances. It can not only solve the problem of high energy consumption of large public projects, but also greatly increase Chinese large-scale central air conditioning technology.
